Adele didn't do well for her PSLE and was placed in a NT class. The spread of her secret admiration for Mark affected her so much that she simply didn't bother to prepare for the exam. Xiaoxue did offer to help her with her revision but she wasn't appreciative and would keep her at arm's length. She just wanted to leave everything behind her and didn't want to have anything to do with anybody from the school.

Somehow, she got what she wanted when she was posted to a school where she was the only one from her primary school. It would have been a great start for her but much to her dismay, things weren't any better than in her previous school. Being new to the school with no familiar faces, Adele kept to herself most of the time. Gradually, she was kind of being isolated by the others in her class as they found her behaviour uninviting. When some of her classmates started spreading rumours about her imbalance physique and mentality, she became as miserable as she had been before. Eventually, she found a seclusive corner behind the school hall where she would go to to do her slashing act. Though by then both her forearms were already covered with slash marks, it didn't bother her a bit as it was her only source of relief.

She was sobbing away again at her hideout after being teased during PE. Just as she was about to take out her penknife to relieve herself of her 'pain', she thought she heard somebody weeping from among the tables and chairs that were being stacked behind the hall. Worried that her secret hideout might be discovered, she decided to leave the place before being spotted. But her curiosity got the better of her and she decided to find out who else could be using the place as a 'weeping ground'. As she moved closer to the stack, the louder the sobbing and it was obvious that it was being made by a gal. She peeped through the furniture and there sitting under one of the tables was a small gal - small enough to fit nicely under a table. Just then, the gal looked in the direction of Adele as if she had discovered her presence. Adele wanted to run away but somehow her legs weren't very co-operative and before she knew it, the crying gal appeared in front of her. They exchanged stares and noticed that they both had the same redness in the eyes. Just then, the bell rang for the end of recess. They left the hall in opposite directions.

The next day, Adele went back to the hall hoping to see the mysterious gal again. She searched the area but found the place deserted. Disappointed, she turned to leave and as she neared the exit, she noticed a shadow from behind the stage curtain. She called out to the person but there was no response. Somehow, Adele could sense that the person was the gal she had been looking for. She assured her that she meant no harm and that she just wanted to be her friend. Just then, the bell sounded and as Adele moved down the hall she heard a voice saying, "See you tomorrow."
